FAQ's

SFV Lacrosse is a non-profit, volunteer-led corporation whose mission is to teach life lessons to school aged children throughout the San Fernando Valley via lacrosse and to promote and advance amateur youth lacrosse in a safe, positive and sportsmanlike manner.

Programs:

SFV Lacrosse offers recreational lacrosse programs for boys and girls ages 6 - 14. No tryouts are required and new and experienced players of all skill levels are welcome.

  • Fall Ball - October to November.

Whether your child is just starting out in lacrosse or is an experienced club lacrosse player, there is a Vipers program that will develop their skills, provide appropriate competition, and above all, be FUN! We're equally proud of the dozens of former Vipers who have gone on to play high school and college lacrosse as we are of those who just wanted to try out a cool new sport and make friends.

League Play:

SFV Lacrosse is part of the Southern California Lacrosse Association (SCLA), one of the largest youth leagues in the state of California. The SCLA features more than 1,200 players per year on over 80 teams spread across 10 towns.

The SCLA promotes balanced competition among community-based teams. An “equitable” playing time approach guarantees that all kids will see substantial playing time, regardless of skill level.

2024 Age Groupings:

Where feasible, SFV Lacrosse will field boys teams in both the Stars and Stripes divisions of the U10, U12 and U14 age groups for the SCLA spring season.  The Stars level is the highest level of lacrosse in the SCLA and is intended for the most skilled lacrosse players. Players will be assigned to teams based on coaches’ assessments during the first few weeks of practice. U8 and girls groups do not have Stars and Stripes divisions.
